About
Steering myself any direction I choose

The goal of this site is to share a bit about my experiences abroad and, more importantly, to help my parents out when they hear the eponymous question, especially since the time difference can make catching up a bit tricky!

I'm currently based in Leicester in the UK, about an hour north of London by train. A bit of background on why I'm across the pond: I joined a full-time rotational program after graduating from Purdue with a degree in Civil Engineering (and minors in Spanish and Global Engineering). The program consists of two, 1-year rotations in different functions, businesses, and locations to give broad experiences across different industries. I completed my first rotation in Ohio and moved to Leicester in the fall to begin my second and final rotation.

While at university, I had the opportunity to start pursuing international experiences. Luckily, I already had a passport from visiting my brother and sister-in-law in Japan during his time stationed near Tokyo, which made it easy to participate when the "All-American" Marching Band travelled to Dublin for the St. Patrick's Day parade in 2018. My junior year, I studied at EAFIT in Medellín, Colombia for a few months. I'm very grateful for the wonderful people I met and places I explored, unfortunately my time there ended a bit prematurely due to the pandemic. I'm excited to be in a new country (accompanied by my lovely cat, Bonita) with new opportunities ahead of me, and looking forward to sharing them here as well!
